Fandom They Come From: Phoenix Wright, Justice For All
Personality: Though she pretends to be an airhead, ‘Ini’ is actually a predator in disguise. In reality, she is a cold, haughty person. She easily mocks those who she deems idiots and will lose her temper when baited. However, above all, she will hide this personality by acting like a cheerleader type of person. When she is 'Ini', she is a complete ditz who enjoys sleeping and parapsychology. Mimi, on the other hand, despises the occult and is more interested in cars. When cornered, Ini attempts to confuse her conversational assailant by changing the topic.
Background: The real name of this girl is Mimi Miney. She was a nurse, employed by Dr. Grey. However, the man constantly worked her to the bone, causing her extreme stress. This ultimately led to a malpractice accident, which caused fourteen people at the clinic to die. Dr. Grey placed the blame on Mimi, though whether it was truly her fault or not is never explained. After this, Mimi wanted to disappear out of shame.
The perfect opportunity appeared when Mimi fell asleep behind the wheel. She later claimed that she was drugged by Dr. Grey, but no evidence for this has ever been given. Mimi lost control of the car and it crashed, bursting into flames. She managed to escape the wreckage, but her sister Ini, who had been in the passenger seat, died in the fire and was burnt beyond recognition. Mimi herself had been burnt severely as well, and had to be taken to the Hotti clinic for immediate facial surgery. She gave the doctors a picture of Ini and adopted the identity of her younger sister to start her life anew. It was assumed that Mimi had died in the fire.
A year later, she discovered her cosy new life was being threatened. While studying parapsychology in her sister’s name, she was approached by none other than Dr. Grey. The man told her about his plans to summon Mimi’s spirit through a spirit medium, and have her sign an official paper in which she would take the blame for the malpractice incident. ‘Ini’ directed him to the Kurain village, which was famous for its channeling technique. The heir, Maya Fey, would do the job.
However, Mimi knew that no spirit could be channeled, because she had never died. So she decided to murder dr. Grey and pin the blame on Maya Fey. Collaborating with Morgan Fey, Maya’s spiteful aunt, a plan was devised. Before the channeling started, Mimi hid in a box in the channeling chamber, dressed in spiritual robes. Maya had been drugged, so she would pass out before she could even properly start the ritual. Then, Mimi came out of hiding and stabbed the man who had tried to summon her. She hid Maya Fey in the box and completed her disguise. However, dr. Grey’s stab wounds were not lethal. He tried to shoot Mimi, but missed. In turn, he was shot with his own pistol.
The entire case is later unraveled by Phoenix Wright, one of the witnesses to the crime. Through an incredible series of questioning, he eventually causes ‘Ini’ to slip up and corners her until she cannot do anything but confess. Her last words before she was arrested were that becoming Ini was the hardest thing she ever had to do, because she despised parapsychology.
